SXKT Smart Fireplace: Nine Functions
SXKT-001 functions form an operating chain: fuel handling, preparation, ignition, adjustment, monitoring, shutdown and cooling, including thermostat and timer control. Understanding that chain helps a project team distinguish a control command from the appliance’s actual state.
This overview uses the public SXKT Detailed User Manual, version 1.0 (English Compact) and the KT Adjustable-Flame Burner reference. Match the supplied manual and control version to the appliance nameplate, approved drawing and written order before using any function. The series name does not establish which optional features are fitted.

First, distinguish commands from operating states
Scroll across the table to see all columns.
| Command or condition | What follows | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Fuel heating, vapor generation and automatic ignition | Displayed state and normal preparation time |
| Increase or decrease | Moves the control setting through 20 levels | Physical flame and appliance display |
| Thermostat enabled | May pause combustion and reignite after temperature changes | Normal stop, disabled automatic tasks and complete extinction |
| Stop | Shutdown begins; residual vapor may continue burning | Full extinction and full cooling before fuel handling, following the supplied manual |
1. Gasification prepares the fuel before the flame appears
The SXKT heats ethanol so that vapor can be ignited. This separates the start command from the moment a visible flame appears. Page 8 of the version 1.0 English Compact manual gives approximately 3–15 minutes for fuel heating and vapor generation before automatic ignition, depending on ambient temperature. Treat this as a documented reference, not a guaranteed start time for every configuration; use the instructions supplied for the exact unit.
That wait is part of the operating process. The manual warns against forcing repeated starts after a no-vapor or ignition-failure condition. Read the displayed message and follow the applicable instructions or contact technical support rather than treating every delay as permission to restart.
2. Ignition is a state transition, not an instant reaction
After fuel heating and vapor generation, the system proceeds to automatic ignition. The operator should distinguish “the appliance accepted the command” from “the flame is established.” This distinction is especially useful during commissioning, because it prevents normal preparation time from being mistaken for a failed ignition.
3. Twenty flame levels provide repeatable adjustment
The linked KT product reference specifies 20 flame levels, and pages 2 and 8 of the version 1.0 English Compact manual describe 20 flame levels. These are defined control steps for increasing or decreasing the setting; check the labeling on the delivered display and remote.
A level number should not be presented as a certified heat-output percentage. It is a control reference. The visible flame and the appliance display remain the practical confirmation points, particularly when a project is being commissioned or an operating question is being diagnosed.
4. Local, remote and standard Android App controls have different roles
Appliance panel
The clearest reference when standing beside the installation. Use it to read the appliance state and make local adjustments.
Remote control
A convenient way to send start, stop and level commands from within its intended operating range.
Standard Android App control
Standard Android App operation after the supplied download and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection are configured. App plus/minus commands are relative; the appliance does not return an exact flame-level value to the app.
SXKT-001 includes a Chinese/English Android App as standard, alongside the touchscreen and remote. Use the supplied private download and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi setup; Bluetooth is not supported. Smart-home connection and an external fuel tank are optional. Confirm the supplied software version and ordered options before use. Our SXKT control-interface guide explains the specification questions to ask.
5. Automatic filling stops at the full-level condition
Page 7 of the version 1.0 English Compact manual describes pump-assisted filling through the inlet marked IN and an automatic stop at the high fuel level. This explains the function; the approved filling arrangement and complete procedure must come from the instructions for the delivered unit. Automatic stopping does not remove the need to supervise fuel handling.
For the documented reference sequence, see First filling and operation in the SXKT version 1.0 manual. Confirm its applicability with the supplier before use.
6. Thermostat control can pause and restart combustion
Thermostat control is standard for the current SXKT-001. Page 9 of the version 1.0 manual explains that it may pause combustion and reignite automatically after temperature changes while power remains connected. After external power fails and returns, manual starting is required. Confirm the supplied controller and its settings during handover.
A temporary pause must not be treated as permission to refuel or clean. The public manual separately warns that an appliance in a temperature-protection condition may restart automatically. A thermostat pause can also be followed by reignition. Before leaving or handling fuel, issue normal stop, disable thermostat and timer tasks, and visually confirm complete extinction. Cool below 40°C before filling, draining or cleaning.
7. The timer and child lock still require supervision
Timer functionality is standard for the current SXKT-001. Enabled tasks can trigger starting. Confirm the permitted tasks and setup procedure for the supplied controller before using a schedule. Follow the installation and supervision requirements in the applicable manual; the appliance must be attended during operation.
Page 7 of the version 1.0 manual describes child-lock control through the remote or App; the appliance panel cannot enable or release it. Confirm the controls during handover and keep children and untrained users away. Locking does not stop combustion or establish that the burner has cooled.
8. Protection monitoring makes abnormal states visible
The public KT manual describes monitoring of room and tank temperature, fuel levels, leakage, heating elements, vapor generation and major sensors. External-tank functions apply only when that option is fitted. For a fault, it directs the operator to record the message and display page and not force continued operation.
Do not bypass a protection or borrow a response from a different product family. Use the exact message and the applicable manual when contacting SXFireplace technical support. The presence of monitoring does not replace supervision or the installation and fuel-handling requirements.
9. Stop begins a sequence that ends with cool-down
After a normal stop command, residual vapor can continue burning for approximately 3–5 minutes in the version 1.0 manual, page 9; actual conditions can vary. Do not use a fixed countdown as proof that the flame is out or the appliance is cool; follow the supplied manual and observe the actual appliance state. A safe finish therefore has four steps:
- Send the normal Stop command.
- Watch the display and flame while residual vapor finishes burning.
- Visually confirm complete extinction.
- Wait for full cooling and follow the supplied manual before filling, draining or cleaning.
Match these functions to the ordered SXKT configuration
The linked KT product page is a reference configuration, not a complete approval for every SXKT size. Record the exact model, control version, ordered options and supplied manual revision together. Confirm the dimensions and electrical requirements from the approved drawing and appliance rating label rather than carrying a size-range formula into the specification.
The selected size changes the installation envelope, but it does not prove that an unlisted interface, certification or performance value is included. For each project, the confirmed order, project drawing, appliance rating label and supplied manual remain the controlling references.
Specify the operating experience before the length
Decide how the fireplace will be started, adjusted, scheduled, supervised and serviced. Then match the correct SXKT length and ordered interfaces to the room and project.
