Specify SXKT Controls: Remote, Android App and Wi-Fi

“Smart” is not a complete control specification. Record each requested function, what is included and how the installed unit will be handed over.

For an SXKT project, list the controls you expect to receive before requesting a quotation. A handheld remote, an onboard display, a phone app and a smart-home interface are separate items. A clear control schedule prevents a project team from assuming that one automatically includes the others.

The current KT Adjustable-Flame Burner reference describes remote operation, an onboard rising display and 20 flame levels. The current SXKT-001 includes a Chinese/English Android App as standard, using the supplied private download and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection; Bluetooth is not supported. Smart-home connection and an external fuel tank are optional. Confirm the supplied software version and ordered options for the exact configuration you are purchasing.

Write a function requirement, not just an accessory name

“Remote included” is a useful starting point, but it does not say which commands are supported. Record the functions you need and ask for the corresponding instructions. Use the same approach for an app or integration: a connection icon does not establish a full control package.

Scroll across the table to see all columns.

Control layer Confirm before order Record at handover
Onboard controls Actual display/control version and permitted user commands Demonstrated normal use and shutdown; applicable manual page
Handheld remote Included remote and supported commands Correct remote matched to the unit; storage and replacement information
Phone app Standard Chinese/English Android App; supplied download, software version and setup requirements Approved setup instructions and functions demonstrated on the supplied version
Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi setup; no Bluetooth; confirm destination network requirements Configured status and approved behaviour when connectivity is unavailable
Smart-home interface Exact interface and scope of supported commands Integration documentation, responsible installer and handover record

Keep the flame setting separate from measured heat output

The linked KT reference specifies 20 flame levels. The public KT family manual, marked 2026.08 FINAL, also describes stepped adjustment. A displayed setting or percentage is a control indication; this article does not establish a calibrated heat-output percentage or a guaranteed flame height for each setting.

If the quotation, manual and actual interface use different terms, ask SXFireplace to identify the applicable version before approval. Do not carry a “stepless” description from older copy into a purchase specification that requires stepped controls.

Agree what happens without connectivity

Document the approved local operating and shutdown method for the delivered unit. At handover, the operator should know where those instructions are and how to seek help if the phone, remote or network is unavailable.

This does not mean bypassing an alarm or attempting an improvised shutdown. The normal shutdown sequence and any fault response must follow the applicable manual. Ask the supplier to distinguish loss of connectivity from a warning that requires the appliance to remain out of use.

Make commissioning a controlled handover

  • Match the delivered SKU, control version and ordered options to the signed specification.
  • Keep any remote labelled for the correct installation when several units are present.
  • Record the supplied Android App instructions and any separately ordered integration instructions.
  • Have the authorised installer demonstrate the permitted functions in accordance with the applicable manual.
  • Explain displayed operating states and warnings for that interface without relying on a generic screen diagram.
  • Give the operator the manual, supplier contact and approved no-connectivity guidance.

Do not record passwords or account credentials on a publicly accessible project sheet. Keep any account handover within the owner’s approved process.

A compact control brief for the quotation

Use one line for each requested control or option: project tag; model; requested function; included/excluded; supplier confirmation; document revision; commissioning check. “To be confirmed” should remain an open question, not silently become “included.”

For example, a room may require local and handheld operation but no app. Another location may require an approved integration. Record the current SXKT-001 standard controls separately from optional integrations, then confirm the supplied version at each location.

Connectivity does not replace supervision

A connected control system does not make a real-flame fireplace suitable for unattended operation. Follow the exact installation and operating instructions, including ventilation, fuel handling, shutdown, cooling and warning response. Never refill a hot or burning unit, and do not bypass a warning to restore phone control.

Use technical resources to identify the starting documents, then request a configuration-specific quotation with the project country, model and required control methods.

The smart bioethanol burner collection helps compare model families after the required controls are defined.
