SXKT and SXRX Smart Fireplace Controls: What to Specify

Choosing a smart bioethanol fireplace means deciding how you want to operate it as well as how it will look. For the selected SXFireplace models, SXKT-001 smart ethanol burner inserts and SXRX-L-005 linear smart ethanol burner inserts have different standard controls, flame settings and optional connections.

This comparison applies to these two model configurations. Confirm the exact length and ordered equipment before using it as a project specification.

Start with the standard controls

SXKT-001: touchscreen, remote control and Android App

SXKT-001 includes three separate control interfaces as standard: a touchscreen on the unit, a remote control and an Android App. The App connects through a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Include the intended network and App setup in your project discussion so that these controls can be coordinated before installation.

The model provides 20 flame settings. In the Android App, increase and decrease commands are relative adjustments; those commands alone do not establish that the App displays the exact active setting. If an exact level readout is part of your operating requirement, confirm that requirement against the supplied controls and current documentation.

SXRX-L-005: on-unit controls and remote control

SXRX-L-005 includes on-unit controls and a remote control as standard. Its flame cannot be manually adjusted. Wi-Fi and App control are not currently available on SXRX.

SXKT-001	SXRX-L-005
SXKT-001 has automatic filling and draining as standard, together with thermostat control, a timer and a child lock. These functions should be reviewed with the current operating instructions for the unit you order.	SXRX-L-005 has automatic filling. Draining depends on the selected size and configuration and should be confirmed for that unit. Do not specify an RX Wi-Fi App or a Wi-Fi-dependent thermostat arrangement; RX currently has no Wi-Fi connection. Confirm other requested functions for the selected configuration.

Specify optional connections before ordering

Smart-home interfaces and external fuel tanks are options that require confirmation for the ordered model and configuration. Describe the intended connection and operating requirement when requesting a quotation. SXKT Android App control, an RX remote and a smart-home interface are separate parts of the specification. RX currently has no Wi-Fi connection.

If a custom enclosure or size is involved, include those requirements in the custom ethanol fireplace review. The control equipment and the installation drawing need to match the same ordered unit.

Which model suits your project?

• Consider SXKT-001 when your brief calls for standard touchscreen, remote control and Android App operation, plus 20 flame settings.
• Consider SXRX-L-005 when on-unit and remote control operation meets the brief and manual flame adjustment is not required. Wi-Fi and App control are not currently available on SXRX.
• For either model, confirm the selected length, control equipment, optional connections and current installation drawing together.
