Hand Over an SXRX Manual Burner: Model, Tool and Operator Checklist
A practical handover record connects the installed manual burner to its tool, drawing, instructions and responsible operator, without importing another model’s dimensions.
On this page
A manual burner needs more than a neat surround at handover. The responsible operator should be able to identify the installed unit, find the supplied tool and instructions, and explain the operating limits before live use.
Use this checklist for a documented SXRX manual configuration. Begin with a cold, empty demonstration. Filling, ignition, shutdown and any live commissioning must follow the instructions confirmed for that particular unit.
1. Identify the installed burner and its documents
Record the exact model, serial number where provided, supplier order reference and installation location. Pair those details with the approved drawing revision and applicable manual. A project tag such as “Lounge-FP-01” makes it easier to connect photographs, documents and the physical unit.
The current SXFG-1000 product reference describes a 1000 mm-class sliding-lid manual insert. It is not evidence that every SXRX manual burner shares a seven-size range or the same depth and height. Alternative lid arrangements and lengths must be confirmed against the selected order.
The public manual-burner family guide is labelled 2026.08 FINAL. Ask the supplier to confirm that the version and operating details apply to the delivered configuration. Keep that confirmation with the project, rather than saving an unidentified PDF.
2. Check the supplied parts and tool location
Match the delivered parts to the order and packing list, including the sliding lid and operating tool for that configuration.
Assign a consistent storage point for the tool and identify it on the handover sheet. It should be accessible to the responsible adult without reaching over the burner, while remaining protected from casual misuse. Keep the manual and support contact easy to find as well.
3. Rehearse the operating path while cold and empty
With the appliance cold and without fuel, demonstrate only the movement permitted by the supplied instructions. Include the approach to the operating point, lid travel and tool withdrawal. Use the final glass, trim and furniture layout so the demonstration reflects the completed room.
Stop if the lid catches, a part is missing, a finish blocks the tool or the intended operator must lean across the opening. Record the issue and obtain a correction before live use. A handover signature cannot turn an unresolved mechanical or layout problem into an accepted detail.
4. Ask the operator to explain it back
A short teach-back is more useful than asking whether everything is clear. Ask the responsible operator to:
- Identify the installed model and locate its applicable instructions.
- Find the supplied tool and describe the cold demonstration.
- Explain that fuel must never be added while the burner is burning or hot.
- Identify the specified fuel from the applicable manual, rather than substitute another liquid.
- Describe the documented shutdown, cooling and warning-response instructions.
- Find the supplier or authorised service contact and explain what information to provide.
If an answer is uncertain, revisit the relevant instruction and repeat the explanation. Do not use a fixed duration to rush a demonstration or treat a generic checklist as operator certification.
5. Leave a record that the next operator can use
Scroll across the table to see all columns.
| Field | Record for this installation |
|---|---|
| Identity | Project tag, exact model, serial number and order |
| Documents | Applicable manual and approved drawing revisions; storage location |
| Components | Supplied lid/tool configuration and checked delivery items |
| Tool storage | Agreed location and photograph |
| Operator handover | Name/role, date, demonstrated items and teach-back completed |
| Open issues | Issue, responsible person, resolution and recheck |
| Support | Supplier contact and information needed for a support request |
Keep personal contact details within the project team’s appropriate handover record. The published checklist does not need to contain the owner’s private information.
Keep installation acceptance separate
This record captures operator handover. It does not establish that the site meets building or fire requirements. Support, materials, ventilation, clearances and fuel arrangements still need the exact model documentation and qualified local review.
Manual operation and a chimney-free description do not remove those requirements. Follow the supplied instructions and maintain supervision during use. Never move, fill or service a burner while it is operating or hot.
For missing or mismatched documents, start with technical resources and request the exact model information before completing the handover.
