One flame, two zones: planning an SXRX room divider
A good divider frames the fire from both spaces while leaving one clear, safe operating side.
A low architectural divider can separate dining and living functions without blocking daylight. Adding a linear bioethanol burner makes that boundary feel active, but the flame should never be treated as decoration alone. The current SXRX manual insert is a drop-in 304 stainless steel burner with a sliding lid and dedicated hook tool; those facts should shape the layout from the first sketch.
Map the two audiences
Identify who sees the flame while seated, who passes it while circulating and who operates it. Draw two eye-level sections. A balanced scheme does not require a perfectly symmetrical view: the lounge can have a composed focal point while the dining side receives a lighter glimpse.
A flame visible from two zones is a design condition, not a product certification. Confirm the enclosure, guarding and permitted viewing arrangement for the exact installation.
Designate the operator’s side
The live SXRX listing says its hook tool adjusts the sliding lid and closes it for extinguishing. Choose one side with direct access and no need to lean across the burner. Keep the tool in a known adult-access location, and test the reach while the unit is cold and empty.
Coordinate furniture before fixing the opening
Protect the principal view from tall sofa backs.
Keep table service and decor away from the operating path.
Prevent coats, bags and shortcuts through the flame zone.
Check televisions, glass and polished stone from both sides.
Use the verified range as a planning reference
The current product record lists seven variants: 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 and 1000 mm long, each listed at 300 mm deep and 115 mm high. Treat these as burner dimensions—not automatic opening or clearance dimensions. The surrounding construction must be resolved separately from the manual and professional project requirements.
Finish with a cold walkthrough
Before first use, verify the burner is stable, the lid path is unobstructed and the hook tool can be used from the intended side. Review ventilation, non-combustible materials, clearances and local fire/building rules. Never refuel a burning or hot burner, and follow the supplied instructions rather than a generic routine.
