SXFireplace | Ownership & handover

The first useful step is a careful look, not a press of Start.

When an SXKT fireplace arrives, protect the handover: establish what was delivered, check the visible condition and preserve a clear record before the installation team begins.

A new fireplace brings an understandable wish to see the flame. Yet the most valuable first action is a bioethanol fireplace delivery inspection. It separates questions about the shipment from questions about the installation and gives the owner, dealer and installer the same starting information.

This guide uses the 2000 mm SXKT configuration as its example. Our SXKT Automatic Ethanol Burner Insert product page covers the SXKT-001 family; the Shopify selection is named SXKT-2000, while the English manual records the sales-code form SXKT-001-2000. Always match the delivered appliance to the written order and its own identification.

An SXKT series product reference from SXFireplace’s own materials, not a photographed delivery inspection. The exact pictured length is unconfirmed; supplied components and dimensions follow the order.

Start outside the box

Look over the outer packaging before opening it. Note obvious impact marks, dents or tears, and photograph what you see before the protective layers are removed. This is a record of the delivery’s visible condition, not proof that internal components are unaffected.

During bioethanol fireplace unpacking, follow the handling instructions supplied for the shipment. Retain the original packaging and protective materials for possible repair transport. Set the order documents and manual aside with the inspection record rather than losing them among the packing materials.

Confirm identity before discussing fit

A fireplace nameplate check helps prevent an order mismatch from becoming an installation problem. Compare the model identification and serial number, where provided, with the order, packing list and supplied technical documents. Ask the supplier about any discrepancy before work continues.

The selected SXKT-2000 is listed at 2000 × 260 × 230 mm. That is a product-size reference, not an approved recess or cutout. Do not use this receipt checklist, a photograph or a family catalog page to authorize construction.

Inspect what is visible, leave the internals alone

The SXKT manual’s receipt section identifies five areas: the panel, burner trough, glass, connectors and power cable. Examine accessible surfaces for damage and check the actual included components against the order. Glass or optional equipment should not be assumed from a promotional image.

Visible condition

Look for transport dents, cracks, loose parts, unexpected seepage or cable damage. Photograph an affected area clearly, without dismantling the appliance or altering its condition to demonstrate a problem.

Supply scope

Confirm the agreed accessories and documents against the packing list. A missing or different item is a question for the supplier, not an invitation to substitute a component, improvise a connection or start testing.

Prepare one useful support message

A concise report is easier to act on than several disconnected photos. Provide the supplier with:

  1. The sales model and serial number, if available.
  2. The shipment date or order reference.
  3. Photos of the outer packaging, overall appliance and specific area of concern.
  4. A plain description of what you found and whether any operation has already occurred.

If a fault or display message was already observed, report the exact message and operating step. Never recreate leakage, ignition failure or another fault just to film it. Send identifying labels privately; names, addresses and serial-number records do not belong in public social posts.

The next step depends on your order and the supplier’s assessment. This article does not set carrier-claim deadlines, promise a replacement or determine who pays transport costs.

Finish receipt checks, then begin the professional handover

An intact-looking appliance has passed a limited visual review, not a complete technical approval. The installation team must still review the applicable drawing, electrical provision, support, ventilation and surrounding construction. Our ethanol fireplace installation planning guide can help organize those questions; the actual model instructions and professional requirements remain essential.

For first use, the SXKT manual calls for guidance from the factory, dealer or installer, either on site or by video. Keep that stage separate from unpacking. A documented delivery and an organized handover give everyone a clearer path to the first properly supervised flame.
