What is a bioethanol fireplace?
A bioethanol fireplace burns liquid ethanol fuel in a purpose-designed burner to produce a real flame. Start with the space and the way you want to use it, then compare the operating family and the complete product supplied.
Discuss your projectReal flame, fuel and room planning.
Bioethanol fireplaces are sometimes called ethanol, alcohol or biofuel fireplaces. Those names do not make every alcohol suitable as fuel. Use the fuel specified for the exact appliance. A chimney-free design still needs the ventilation and clearances in its instructions; the absence of a chimney does not establish suitability for a room.
Smart or manual controls.
SXKT Smart, SXRX Smart and SXRX Manual are different operating families. SXKT-001 includes touchscreen, remote and Android App controls. SXRX Smart uses on-unit and remote controls; Wi-Fi and App control are not currently available. Manual burners use the mechanism and operating tool supplied with the selected model. Every family needs responsible supervision.
Burner insert or complete fireplace.
A burner insert is a component for a coordinated surround. A framed or freestanding fireplace may include an enclosure and glass, but the quotation must identify those parts. Tabletop, built-in and freestanding describe different forms; none establishes outdoor suitability by itself. Separate the visible shape from the operating family when shortlisting models.
Size is more than the flame length.
Record the finished space, supporting materials, nearby furniture and intended operating position. For an integrated burner, distinguish the top plate, body, opening and complete installation space. Confirm ventilation, clearance, power where required and service access with the current model drawing before construction.
Purchase price and running cost.
Compare like-for-like supply: burner, frame, enclosure, glass, controls, packing and delivery. For fuel cost, use a documented consumption rate for the selected configuration, the expected operating time and the local price of compatible fuel. A reference tank volume is not a permitted filling quantity or a guaranteed burn time.
Keep the model and documents together.
Save the exact product reference, selected size, finish, controls and supplied parts. Ask for the applicable instructions and drawing revision. Keep open questions visible until the configuration is confirmed; a product photograph or broad family name cannot answer them.
Questions.
Is an ethanol fireplace a gas fireplace?
This guide concerns liquid ethanol burners. Gas fireplaces use a different fuel system; an ethanol product name does not establish a gas connection or permission to convert an existing appliance.
Is a bioethanol stove the same as a bioethanol fireplace?
Search terms overlap. This guide concerns decorative fireplaces and burners. It does not establish cooking capability or primary heating performance for a product described as a stove.
Are bioethanol fireplaces automatically eco-friendly?
An eco-friendly or ecological label is not evidence of emissions, indoor air quality or lifecycle performance. Assess the specific fuel and appliance documentation; this guide makes no zero-emission or carbon-neutral claim.
Can I move a portable fireplace while it is burning?
No. Never move an operating or hot unit. Placement, shutdown, cooldown and any permitted movement must follow the instructions for the selected model.
Which model is best for my room?
There is no single model for every room. Start with the intended setting, complete dimensions, controls and supervision, then review the exact configuration and installation requirements.
