How does a smart home module switch an ethanol fireplace? Start with the control signal, not just the module’s power supply. Those two specifications can be very different.
Power and control are different All steps remain visible. Play the illustration or select Next step.

Power for the module is not power for the input
A dry contact is a switch contact that supplies no voltage to the fireplace input. If the documented interface requires that signal, the module must provide the appropriate contact output. A module powered at a suitable voltage can still have an unsuitable output.
Do not apply mains or low-voltage power to a signal input just because it is called a “switch.” Have a qualified installer compare both manufacturers’ wiring documents. The fireplace control specification guide helps identify which interface and controls are actually included.
A short pulse and a held contact are different
A momentary contact closes briefly; a latching output stays in its selected state. If the fireplace expects a momentary signal, a held contact is not automatically equivalent.
Also check whether the command is an explicit start or stop request, or a toggle. With a toggle, one accepted command may start the unit and the next may stop it. Repeating a command without knowing the current state can therefore give the opposite result from the one intended.
The installer needs to account for repeated commands, lost communication and power interruption. A message saying “command sent” does not mean ignition or shutdown is complete. The operating guide explains that distinction.
Keep the real flame in view
Operate where you can inspect the fireplace and observe the result. Someone could be cleaning, servicing or covering it when an unseen remote command arrives.
Keep the normal local controls and shutdown instructions available. Enable only the functions permitted for the installed configuration, and complete the installation handover before using scenes, voice routines or other automation.
Compare the smart bioethanol burner collection for model selection; interface compatibility still requires the exact supplied documentation.
